Automatic fire extinguisher systems
Fire is one of the most destructive forces known to man, at SPA we have made it our goal to provide the greatest protection against this destructive force.
We have produced a range of automatic fire sensing systems that can monitor critical areas at all times, these consist of special heat sensing trigger wire laid in the vulnerable area, the trigger wires are available in various temperature ranges for different requirements, this then sends a signal back to the main control box which activates an audible alarm whilst at the same time activates a military spec actuator to disperse the extinguishant to the protected areas.
We produce either a single channel system or control box that can take up to 5 channels and thereby operate five extinguishers protecting multiple areas each independently triggered.
Our Novec™1230 systems remove the heat from the fire causing the fire to go out, our AFFF systems cover the entire area in a blanket of foam thereby starving the fire of oxygen.
Novec
™1230 is ideal for special hazard areas where continuous operation of high value equipment is paramount. Examples include computer and electronic control rooms, hazards aboard ships and critical military applications such as vehicle engine and crew bay protection, combine harvesters, agricultural machines, wood choppers in fact the list is endless.
Also ideal for environments such as libraries, cultural facilities, storage rooms, archives and museums in fact any area where valuable items must not be damaged by a fire extinguishing agent.
Fires start when a flammable and/or a combustible material with an adequate supply of oxygen or another oxidizer is subjected to enough heat and is able to sustain a chain reaction, this is commonly called the fire tetrahedron. Fire cannot exist without all these elements being in place.
Once ignited a chain reaction must take place whereby fires can sustain their own heat by the further release of heat energy in the process of combustion and may propogate provided there is a continuous supply of an oxidizer and fuel.
Fire can be extinguished by removing any one of the elements of the fire tetrahedron.SPA systems are designed to interupt one of these elements causing the fire to go out.
